Memory palace notes for Android
Put what you know in a place. Walk to remember it.
Mindhall is a notes app built on the memory palace, the method of loci. Write linked notes, place them on the places of a palace drawn as a floor plan, and walk it to remember. A 40-lesson course teaches the techniques; spaced repetition keeps what you learn.

Your first palace in three minutes
Mindhall starts with a short walk instead of a tutorial. Your own home or your own body is the palace.
- Pick five places in your home or on your body, in the order you meet them.
- Place five things on them, with one vivid scene at each place.
- Take a 15-second break.
- Walk the route and recall the five things forward, then backward.
Most people recall all five in both directions. It is the method Simonides of Ceos is said to have used about 2,500 years ago, and it is the first room of the hall. How a memory palace works

Notes that link to each other
Write notes with
[[links]],[[link|alias]]and#tags. Backlinks and unlinked mentions appear on their own, and a context panel shows what each note touches: its links, the notes around the same place, notes with the same tags and the cards made from it.- Search with filters: pinned, unplaced, with cards, by tag
- Templates for study notes, vocabulary and talks
- Autosave, pinning and a trash kept for 30 days
- A graph of one note or of your whole hall
- 2
Palaces drawn as floor plans
Start from a template (home, route, body, car, school, workplace, building) or a blank plan, then add rooms and places. Mindhall draws the palace as a hand-drafted floor plan with your walking route, numbered places and a hand mark at every fifth place. Put a note on a place with a vivid scene, then take a tour walk or a recall walk, forward or in reverse.
- 3
Cards from your own notes
Write
==hidden word==orQ :: Ainside any note and it becomes a flashcard. Title cards, place cards and Major-system number cards come from the same material. Reviews are scheduled with FSRS, a modern open algorithm, at a target recall you choose: 90% unless you change it. - 4
A course in 10 wings and 40 lessons
Short lessons with exercises you do, not just read: about 29 kinds, from palace walks and peg lists to Major-system drills and pairing names with drawn faces. Challenges include π to 100 decimals, a full deck of cards and 15 names and faces.

A daily rhythm that stays small
Today shows what is due: a few cards, the next lesson, a walk, a quick note. Finish and the day gets its seal. Streak freezes or a 5-of-7-days goal keep it humane, and the ledger keeps your seals, recall rate and numbered milestones.

Private and offline
No account and no sign-up. Notes stay on your phone and in Android’s own backup, and the app works fully offline. Export a complete backup or plain text and Markdown at any time; import Mindhall backups and .md or .txt files.
